Description

This presentation is an introduction to complexity-aware monitoring and how principles and approaches that fall into this category can complement performance monitoring work in USAID programs. In order to test what works and what doesn't in using complexity-aware monitoring within the USAID context, PPL/LER conducted trials with USAID staff and partners. The purpose of these trials was to generate a body of knowledge about the benefits of these approaches, and what supports their use, and under what conditions. Ultimately, the trials will inform efforts in support of Agency programming that is more effective and agile in the face of complexity.
