Description

The USAID/Uganda School Health and Reading Program works with the Ugandan Ministry of Education to develop a model for improving the reading in the early primary school grades. Though initial results were promising (reading achievement was significantly higher in the program compared to control schools), we wanted to do better. A portfolio review and work planning around the theme of "accelerating reading achievement" led to many programmatic changes that were put into effect in a matter of weeks.

This video storyboard illustrating CLA in action was submitted as part of USAID's CLA Case Competition, held in August 2015. A winning storyboard was selected to be produced into a formal video with assistance from the USAID LEARN project. This submission is part of a collection of examples that illustrate the diversity of ways collaborating, learning, and adapting approaches are being operationalized in the field.
