A key component of GHI is the Women, Girls, and Gender Equality Principle (WGGE) which aims to redress gender imbalances related to health, promote the empowerment of women and girls, and improve health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. Focus on gender in the M&E of health programs is vital to ensure that gender is being considered, addressed and measured at all points of a health program design and implementation, from inputs to impacts. Work is under way to establish a results framework and potential indicators for the program elements in order to measure progress and evaluate program impacts.
