I read the recent document on sub-component cards and wondered if there were plans to either make these available OR if the graphic template might be available now. These could be very useful, interactive tools.
Thanks for your interest! Because the cards are not inexpensive to print and to mail, we are not yet offering copies to outside organizations. We haven't been able to provide them to all of the USAID missions yet, and they are our priority. Moreover, at the point in time, we see the Matrix tool exercise as an in-person experience and are not sharing digital versions of the cards. There are some sample cards available on this page on Learning Lab: https://usaidlearninglab.org/library/collaborating%2C-learning%2C-and-adapting-cla-framework-and-maturity-matrix-overview. If there other specific subcomponents of the framework and matrix that you're interested in, we may be able to send an electronic version of those.
Lastly, keep your eye out for quarterly CLA Maturity Matrix Facilitators Training sessions -- the next is planned for Spring 2017 in DC. These trainings are for USAID and IP staff who anticipate working with USAID missions and bureaus to develop CLA and MEL Plans. Participants in these sessions will receive a copy of the Matrix deck and facilitation materials.
Thanks, Jessica Who in the Mission would receive the cards? Program Office? Spring 2017 - Can you please advise the average length of the training sessions? and approxmate dates (so that I might bring this up with my firm as well and for planning purposes)
Hi, Candy. Yes, the Program Office will usually receive the cards, unless there are other mission staff who request copies of the Matrix tool. As we work to distribute the tool, we are also prioritizing missions who reach out to the USAID/PPL CLA team to specifically request the cards, so if you know of a mission that is interested, encourage them to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
As for the facilitators training, the sessions we have run so far have been about two hours. We don't have anything on the calendar yet, but are considering late February or early March and quarterly thereafter. Thanks.
I assume that the facilitator training sessions are two hours live in DC?
That's correct. The training schedule for 2017 has not been set yet, but we anticipate quarterly training.
FYI, the training for Facilitators of the CLA Maturity Matrix Self-Assessment and Action Planning will be offered on March 8. Given the great deal of interest, we are sending out invitations according to our waiting list. If you have not expressed interest and want to participate in this two-hour, DC-based training, please send an e-mail to email@example.com.
Hi all...while we are not able to offer physical copies of the full CLA Maturity tool decks to USAID's implementing partners, we now have a digital version of the maturity stages for the CLA Framework subcomponents available upon request. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
