FHI360

Event Description

Following on the successful Advancing the FIELD conference held in September 2014, FHI 360 will host a one-day conference on September 18, 2015, bringing together some of the industry's most respected minds to tackle our most challenging issues in development. To build on the interest and momentum generated by the Advancing the FIELD conference and to move forward the ideas that were discussed in 2014, particularly around systems thinking, FHI 360 has planned the Challenge Conference.

The overarching theme of the Challenge Conference will focus on deepening systemic engagement. How do we as practitioners and change agents unify systems theory and practice to bring forth healthy and inclusive human development? Sub-themes to be explored include: awareness and presencing, balance and directionality in healthy systems, managing both accountability and adaptive learning (that often pull in opposite directions) in program implementation, and working effectively with competition and cooperation in the development of well-functioning market systems. Keynote speakers include leaders in the area of systems thinking. Practitioners and funders will provide practical insights into these challenges, how they affect our work in development, and how we might address them.
