What’s a Share Fair? And How Can I Have One?

Join this webinar to explore what a share fair is and how you can hold a successful one to support communication and knowledge exchange  in your field. The presentation will examine different share fair examples from large, expensive US-based share fairs to small, in-country, project-based share fairs. We’ll talk about logistics planning, how to select a theme, and how to engage stakeholders and collaborators to ensure your event is successful and innovative.

Speakers include:

Willow Gerber, Senior Technical Advisor with the Center for Leadership and Management at Management Sciences for Health (MSH): Willow works on the K4Health project and other projects at MSH. A knowledge management and resource mobilization expert, Willow has over 15 years of experience in international public health and development, including technical and administrative management of health and education programs.

Sarah Harlan, Learning Director, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP): Sarah works on the K4Health project and the ICMM project. For more than thirteen years, Sarah has been deeply committed to her work in family planning, reproductive health, and HIV prevention. She also has extensive experience with knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic communications for research studies and public health programs.

Vanessa Mitchell, Senior Program Officer, CCP: Vanessa works on the K4Health project as well as several other projects at CCP. Vanessa received her MPH in Nutrition in 2007 from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and served as a Community HIV/AIDS Prevention Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa. Recently she lived in Bangladesh where she managed the Bangladesh Knowledge Management Initiative. Her particular interest is in how Information Communication Technology (ICT), and simple eHealth tools and programs can be used to improve health in communities.

Rebecca Shore, Program Officer, CCP: Rebecca works on the K4Health project as well as the Measurement, Learning & Evaluation (MLE) Project of the Urban Reproductive Health Initiative. With over ten years of experience working with public health programs, she has worked on a range of public health issues, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS prevention, family planning, and reproductive health issues. In 2012 she founded the Social Media for Global Health working group for global health and development professionals using social media, which she currently co-chairs. Rebecca is a regular contributor to the K4Health blog with a focus on social media, mHealth, gender and development.
