WATCH: The Biodiversity Cross-Mission Learning Program

Dec 01, 2016
Ian Lathrop, Amy Gambrill

The concept for this video was a winning submission from the 2015 CLA Case Competition. The video highlights CLA in action through the Conservation Enterprises Cross-Mission Learning Program launched in 2015 by USAID/E3 Forestry and Biodiversity Office (FAB).

USAID E3/FAB's Biodiversity Cross-Mission Learning Program works to increase the effectiveness of USAID biodiversity conservation programming by finding out what works, what doesn't, and why. This Learning Program connects USAID staff in different Missions who are implementing the same strategic approach to address a development challenge; facilitates the sharing of knowledge and experience about when and under what conditions the theory of change holds; and helps foster collaboration to answer a set of shared learning questions (a Learning Agenda) that can help improve the effectiveness of USAID programs. Learning Groups collaborate through email discussions, virtual meetings, and an online wiki knowledge base. Learning Groups may also choose to collaborate on data or information collection to address priority learning questions.
