Building Effective Inter-Organizational Partnerships: An Introduction

Event Details

Date and time

May 8, 2013

Host

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

Event Description

Inter-organizational collaboration is an ever increasing necessity.  The complexity of development challenges and the size and scope of programs make implementation by one organization rarely possible.  The maturation of local NGO capacity is creating new funding trends, partnerships and networks for the purposes of both service delivery and capacity building.  This has implications for international NGOs (INGOs) as they develop new skills, systems and practices to adapt to these changes.

About the Workshop

The workshop will provide a framework for understanding effective inter-organizational partnerships in a variety of applications.  It will help participants think through whom to engage in a beneficial partnership, and what goes into making that collaboration effective.  Participants will learn from their own organizations, from the experience of others, and from conceptual models as they improve their partnership skills.

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed for staff of NGOs that are new to partnering or are looking for ways to enhance their existing partner relationships.  The content will be particularly relevant for program and senior program staff.
