A Guide to Complexity-Aware Monitoring Approaches
Resources
This guide includes an introduction to the key concepts associated with complexity-aware monitoring, guidance to support application of the approaches, a summary matrix to compare selected approaches, a brief overview of each selected approach, and resources to support use of these approaches. The approaches discussed in the guide are social network analysis, causal link monitoring, outcome mapping, sentinel indicators, pause and reflect, outcome harvesting, most significant change, ripple effects mapping, and contribution analysis. The overall goal of this guide is to support global health professionals in using complexity-aware monitoring approaches to enhance their monitoring and evaluation and adaptive learning, thereby improving the likelihood of project success.
