Celebrating USAID’s Promoting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Policy (PRO-IP)

On August 10,  USAID's Center of Excellence on Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG Center) organized the event celebrating USAID's new Policy on Promoting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (PRO-IP). The session included opening remarks from TIM Rieser, Minority Clerk, Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations (Chairman Leahy), and USAID Chief of Staff Bill Steiger, followed by a panel discussion with five Indigenous Peoples' leaders on their thoughts on how to apply PRO-IP in the most effective way in light of the challenges and opportunities that they face in their countries and regions. The session showcased two video clips titled "Voices of Indigenous Peoples from Around the World."
