Applying the Rapid Feedback MERL Approach with Family Care First Cambodia

Family Care First (FCF) Cambodia is a multi-stakeholder initiative that includes 27 implementing organizations and seeks to develop a comprehensive care system in Cambodia to prevent family-child separation and promote the re-integration of children from residential care institutions to families. FCF is partnering with the Rapid Feedback Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (RF MERL) Consortium to identify untested, innovative ideas that FCF Cambodia partners want to test before scaling their intervention models. This case study shares findings from a formative evaluation that the RF MERL Consortium conducted and designed to inform the design of FCF activities and learning experiments moving forward. Specifically, the Consortia aimed to identify promising message themes and communication channels to test for both a community social and behavior change communication (SBCC) campaign and a donor/volunteer SBCC campaign. The results of this adaptive learning engagement will inform the future of FCF implementation, with opportunities for scale up nationally.
