How-To Note: Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plan

Description

Each activity is required to have an Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Plan to support management of the activity and to inform USAID and the implementing partner about whether and how an activity is making progress toward stated results. This How-To Note provides an overview of what is typically included in an Activity MEL Plan and outlines practical steps for developing, reviewing, and maintaining one.

The Additional Help: Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plan Template (both Microsoft Word and PDF formats) provides a suggested outline and basic guidance for the development of an Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plan (Activity MEL Plan) by a USAID implementing partner.

It is intended primarily for use by implementing partners who typically draft the Activity MEL Plan, as well as for CORs/AORs/GATRs who collaborate on the development of the plan, review the proposed plan, and approve and manage the Activity MEL Plan.
